Dan is an award winning producer / director with great lighting and audio skills who is able to work with real people, not just actors. From commercials and training videos to 40 foot wide billboards; interactive touch screen kiosks to video walls; real and virtual sets, Dan can design, produce and direct the project.
Studied writing, production and direction, as well as Spanish and Business administration.
Hundreds if not thousands of various projects shot all over Utah, the United States, Canada, and Europe give me a deep old-school knowledge base; blending that with the latest equipment makes for insanely creative solutions.
In addition to film and video projects, I’ve built touch-screen kiosks for museums and trade show exhibits, as well as numerous stand-alone video projects, and of course, web-based interactive solutions.
Scheduled 5 edit bays, 2 studios, 2 remote trucks and coordinated duplication. Besides caring for clients and fragile editors, I managed a large crew of freelancers, making sure the right people and equipment were in place for any and all of our clients’ needs.
Deciding I wasn’t meant to be behind a desk was one of the best things I’ve ever done! Instead of scheduling the studios, I was running them. Building sets, lighting, running camera, directing, assisting clients, even sweeping the floors, this was one of my favorite jobs.
Several clients needed me to start handling their projects from start to finish, often times that involved traveling both locally and internationally to fulfill their needs. I learned how to deal with expensive production equipment, time-pressed clients and touchy Customs Agents, a job made ever more difficult these days. Several times I had shoots scheduled in three different cities, in different states on the same day. Needless to say, I’ve learned how to be organized, and watch a budget.
